General admission at Spa-Francorchamps is one of the best value tickets in Formula 1 because of the circuit’s unique layout and landscape. The track is set in the Ardennes hills, which means there are plenty of natural slopes and elevated areas that give you wide views across multiple corners. Unlike many flat circuits where general admission areas can feel limited, at Spa you can walk almost the entire perimeter and stop at different points to watch from a variety of angles. Here’s a quick guide to help you find the best spot for your race weekend.
Near Eau Rouge & Raidillon
From the bottom of Eau Rouge up to the crest of Raidillon, this area is the crown jewel of Spa. The cars dive downhill, compress into the left at Eau Rouge, then climb steeply through Raidillon at full throttle before blasting onto the Kemmel Straight. It’s one of the most photographed spots in Formula 1, and seeing it in person is breathtaking. Big screens here mean you can follow the rest of the lap, but you’ll need to get here early on race day as this area is incredibly popular. Great view of this part of the track is also around the Fanzone, where every ticket has an access for free.
Kemmel Straight
Continue along the general admission path from Raidillon and you’ll find the long uphill Kemmel Straight. This is where the cars hit their top speeds before heavy braking into Les Combes, a prime overtaking zone. From the grass banks, you can watch slipstream battles unfold and see drivers jostle for position. It’s slightly less crowded than Eau Rouge and still delivers high-speed drama.
Bruxelles Hairpin
This general admission section sits at the downhill hairpin of Bruxelles. Cars slow dramatically here after the Les Combes and Malmedy complex, giving you a great chance to see braking technique, tight cornering, and the occasional lunge down the inside. The natural slope of the area means you get an elevated view, and it’s often less packed than Eau Rouge or Kemmel.
Pouhon
In the mid-section of the track, Pouhon is a double-apex left-hander taken at immense speed. The general admission banks here give you a wide-angle view of the corner, from the entry all the way through the exit. It’s a great place to appreciate driver skill and car balance. This section often has more space, so it’s a good choice if you arrive later or want a calmer atmosphere while still seeing some of the most impressive driving on the circuit.
Blanchimont
Near the end of the lap, Blanchimont is another high-speed left-hand sweeper where the cars are almost flat-out. From the general admission area here, you can watch the cars rush past at highpace before heading into the final chicane. While it’s not a heavy braking or overtaking spot, the sheer commitment from drivers makes it thrilling. It’s also one of the quieter general admission zones, ideal if you prefer more space and less crowding.
